Bob was born in England and came to Australia with his family as a 4 year old. He has lived most of his life in Tasmania, interspersed with extensive travels on the mainland and overseas.

His professional career began as a cadet photographer with The Advocate newspaper in Burnie. This followed a successful path – Bob being named as Tasmanian Press Photographer of the Year in 1980, ’81, ’84, ’87 & ’89, and attaining a grade 5A ranking in the profession. He has also won numerous other state and national awards for his news, illustrative and sporting photographs. Bob loves his home state and its inhabitants – having preferred to base himself in Tasmania despite tempting job offers from major mainland newspapers.

A member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, Bob has operated his own full-time photography business based at Ulverstone on Tasmania’s NW Coast for the past 12 years. His work has taken him to most parts of the Island State and also interstate – the variety of photographic assignments suiting Bob’s versatile skills. His easy-going personality and professional competence instil great confidence in his clients, whether they are requiring wedding, editorial, commercial, industrial or other photographic images.
