I hardly put any k’s on the bike today – I live at Chisholm, and the meeting place was the Hume servo, then back to Fadden Pines to have a picnic with the ACT Down Syndrome Association. We hung around the servo for a while – as we do - then the heat sent us on the way to Fadden Pines in search of shade. No chance of anyone taking the wrong turn, as there were only three! Ah, except for John Grunberg who managed to miss the servo earlier – it was cruelly suggested that he was using the GPS again…

The picnic had a slow start, however as the smell of barbecuing sausages and onions wafted out across the plains (well it makes a nice story), more of the Association’s members joined us. Ian’s BBQ skills came in handy – and he’d been on BBQ duty at home the night before – a sucker for punishment…

Most of the children were too small to take for a ride, but were happy to just sit on the bikes. Chas did take one little girl for a short ride – she had the biggest smile and waved to everyone!! And check out the photo of Matt – such a great smile and once he had the throttle figured out he couldn’t stop revving – he sure did put a smile on all our faces!
