EVENT REPORT :
1st ‘Asphalt, Nosh & Goss’ - Tuesday 22nd January 2008
A compilation of comments from 10 x participants:
A good chance to chat and catch up before leaving Watson
Hellos to returned friends (and repaired/not yet repaired/returned &/or new bikes).
A toddle around the sights and a mini chomp & chat with people you may not have talked with much before. A bit further next time. We stayed too long atop Mt Ainslie wishing we owned the real estate.
Big Al copped ride leader again because he had the lowest Ulysses number.
Rode against the traffic. GDE was empty at 5:15 but Greg copped every tin lid on Northbourne, getting to Watson
Bike friendly, keen to please, roomy venue and mid-range set dinner. Sylvia and Jan were waiting there.
Mutual bike admiration, inspections and knowledgeable, experienced advice [Thanks Gordon - the WD40 worked a miracle on my rear brake switch. That problem has existed for 8 months and many great minds have pondered it]
Leaving at dusk in time for some TV at home (or to say goodnight to the kids).
Low key, low commitment, low risk, laid back wind down, evening.
Good, I liked it, ‘Just so’.
I really enjoyed it. Think it's a great break in the working week, and a good chance to catch up with nice people.
After further consultation, next event:
Tuesday 26th February
5:30 for 6:00 departure from Caltex at Watson
Ride a loop to Gundaroo
Meal or coffee at Tilly’s at Lyneham at 7ish
