President's Welcome...

Welcome to the Ulysses Club Canberra Branch Website.

Welcome to our website. First, some information for you…our meetings are held every third Tuesday at 8.00pm at the Italo Australian Club on the corner of Franklin St and National Circuit, Forrest. Those of us who can, start arriving at the club from 6.00 pm., to have dinner and a drink and catch up first before the meeting. After the meeting many of us linger over a coffee and biscuit and a chat! Funny, it seems there is never an end to the riding stories!!

We have weekends away, Sunday rides short and long, and many of us take the opportunity to attend the Ulysses AGMs. About 50 of us spent time in Townsville this year, and next year of course we are off to Penrith for the AGM 2009 – and Albany WA the year after! Woo Hoo!!. There are other opportunities to ride of course – the “Usual Suspects” on Wednesday and the “Tuesday Terriers” for the more sedate riders. And you don’t have to wait for an organized ride – you’ll always find another Ulysses member up for a ride!

As well as all this fun and friendship, we also spend time raising funds for worthy causes such as Snowy Southcare Hydro Helicopter service and Arthritis ACT. We also participate in the annual Cyclops event, which gives time out to carers.
