      Pink Ribbon Ride

      BUSTed in the ACT
       THANK YOU!!

A message from Fi from GotM:

Girl's on the Move inc. (GotM) "THANK YOU" to all who participated and contributed to a wonderful evening . 'BUSTed in the ACT' - ACT's Pink Ribbon ride to support NBCF turned out to be a great bunch of riders. The meeting point (Weston Park) was perfect with lots of room for parking and checking out some beautiful bikes and of course the social catch ups that this kind of ride offers

Special mention to those who prepared their bikes for the ocassion - there was some bright looking additions and of course lots of pink bits ... !!

Pete Major introduced the reason behind the ride and also the route. Once we'd ridden around the Parliamentary Triangle and caused quite a stir at Old Parliament House, we rode across Commonwealth Ave Bridge and re - grouped (thanks to the red light!!) Northbourne Ave was lit up with lights and rumble of sixty odd bikes. By the time we arrived at Tilley's we had upwards of 70 people who enjoyed the good food, drinks and atmosphere while the formalities took place.

As a last minute decision to actually organise the ride, I personally have to acknowledge the support of
Alli Malpas - President of Girls on the Move inc
Pete Major - President of MRA ACT and
Tilley's for the venue, hot 'n' cold drinks and fine food
who without their support this event would not have happened! Next year beware, October is the month so start planning your outfit cause we know now that balloons fit in bras on fairings and that's all it takes to raise awareness!!!!

Thanks also to local businesses who donated to vouchers to the cause. Raffle prize winners were:
Peter Jalowenko - $150 voucher from Canberra Motorcycle Centre , Fyshwick & Mitchell
Terry & Belinda Riddle - $100 voucher from Robbo's Harley Davidson , Fyshwick
Geoff England - $350 worth of photo shoot and prints from Studio Vogue in Belconnen
Roger Prouse - Champagne Breakfast for two from Tilley's at Lyneham
D Stephen - $50 voucher from Carlo's @ Watson
Ian Van Vucht - $100 voucher from Absolutely Framed in Queanbeyan
Total money raised from donations and raffles was in excess of $460 and this will be deposited into the NBCF account ASAP by GOTM treasurer.
However we are waiting for Tilley's to balance up and provide the 20% figure offered ... watch this space....
