A WILD WEEKEND IN NOWRA [Nowra Meet&Greet 3-5 Sept 2010]
Quite a few turned up in tin lids so as not to miss out on the fun. On the return trip, wind gusts of up to 120 km per proved too much for riders. Some limped into a service station to wait out the storm. It was all they could do to stay upright and park their bikes in shelter. As they left them there they noticed the service station literally being blown apart in front of their eyes They waited a few hours in Ulladulla till the winds dropped a little.
Most shops were closed due to wind or lack of power. There were trees down over the road every km and the SES had just cut the tops off them so road users could drive around them. Derek was naughty and pushed over a tree in Ulladulla,
The casual dinner on Friday night afforded opportunities to catch up with organizers, old friends, Natcom and folk met on previous rallies. Numbers went down as the music was turned up and the bouncers either locked us in our out, and would not reopen the iron gates.
There were 140 + at the well organized, well priced dinner on Saturday from all points in NSW plus one from WA. There was plenty of food so it is a mystery why Butch [AKA Alan] chose to eat spiders.
Lots and lots to do in the area with a rich seafaring, shipbuilding, naval and agricultural history.
