A wet week brought a wet weekend, and it was hard to guess what attendance at the picnic might be on a wet and fairly dismal day. The morning brought some quite heavy showers, prior to the 12 midday kick off time at the gardens. However, the Lockyer Ulyssians love of a social gathering obviously won the day, and a good attendance was evident.

The sound of snags sizzling was a welcome greeting to everyone as they arrived, as were Sheriff Ado's fun games and activities. People were eager to get in and have some fun, and Adrian had everyone participating in the many and varied fun activities. Volley ball, bowls and a number of very inventive party style games had everyone competing in great fun, and there was plenty of soft drink to wash down the snags and wet throats dry from yakking.

Several hours in the park saw everyone have a great time, and while most opted to bring cars instead of bikes due to the weather it was very obviously a typical Ulysses fun day.

Many thanks to the Sheriff of Lockyer Valley for his planning of the many varied activities on the day, which were enjoyed by all who participated. With the grounds lush and green from all the recent rain, and good company from fellow Ulyssians, it would be hard to top our last branch activity prior to the elections the following night.
