As mentioned at the last meeting and in response to many that like the weekends away, we have organised a weekend ride to the Mt. Victoria in the Blue Mountains on Sat. 5th of November, returning on either Sunday 6th, or for those who have chosen not to work Monday 7th.

We will leave Pauls Corner at 8:30 am, go down through Kurri Kurri, Cessnock, Wollombi for morning tea, Central Mangrove, Spencer with lunch at Wiseman's Ferry. After lunch up to Sackvillle on the Hawkesbury River and over the ferry to the Putty Road for a short distance to East Kurrajong Road., Kurrajong Heights, Bilpin, Bell and over to Mt. Victoria.

The distance is approx. 340 klms and we should arrive around 3.30pm.

Suggested accommodation is at the Mt.Victoria Motel or the Imperial hotel next door. Both 3.5 star rating.

The Mt. Vic. motel is offering a special Ulysses rate of $85:00. A queen bed room (all rooms are queen beds) for Sat. night and $80 for Sunday. Normal rates $100 per night. 2 rooms have an additional single bed,1 room an additional single sofa bed and 1 room an additional double sofa bed at $16.50 per additional person. Park outside room. No cover, take your own. 50% deposit reqd. on booking.

They have a breakfast menu or as a special you can have a bacon and egg roll for $4.50. Mention N/Bay Ulysses when you book or you will be quoted normal rates. They only have 12 rooms so if you are interested don't leave it to late. He is holding 10 rooms for a week till Fri 23rd Sept. Ring members with no email and let them know. We have to move reasonably quick to get the Accommodation. It wont be there in a month.

The Hotel Imperial next door has a variety of rates depending on the class of room, size, ensuite or shared toilets etc, etc. Pubs in the Blue Mouintains are not cheap and get more popular as the weather improves. Ring to check it out.

For the night meal we can choose from the Hotel dining room, a side room or 2 or 3 local restaurants including a Thai in close walking distance. As usual there will probably be the entertainment.

For those that want to stop over we will look at some scenic attractions on the Sunday, perhaps the Jenolan Caves, the Zig Zag railway, Three Sisters etc.

The route home could be back down Kurrajong Road, to the Putty Road and up to Millbrodale, Broke, Cessnock or back to Wiseman's, Spencer , Central Mangrove and the Freeway. Those leaving on each day can decide the route they prefer. Contacts as follows:
