Tea Gardens
15 bikes, one trike, and one moped oops scooter departed from Macca’s at 9:00a.m. on the 2/4/06 for the greener pastures of Tea Gardens. Our new President and First Lady led the way on their trusty steed, setting a cracking pace. The ride to Dungog for morning tea was uneventful, except to say that Garry on his trike had more difficulty trying to avoid bumps in the road and potholes than the rest of us on two wheels. With Bear being back marker we were able to communicate with each other so that when we approached intersections everyone knew which way to go. Morning tea was welcomed at Dungog, the stopover even gave Bill Muddle time to go and say hello to his mum and family, who waved us off as we departed for Tea Gardens. Arrived at the pub to find a thousand other bikes parked out the front, so while the girls went and checked out how long we would have to wait for lunch, we decided to go the golf club. Some headed off and when Colleen and Ros came back it was discovered that there was no one in the pub at all. I don’t know whose idea it was to go to the Golf Club, but we all had an enjoyable lunch and appreciated each other’s company. After lunch it was up the highway to Raymond Terrace, Maitland and home. The weather was perfect, as was the company, all in all a great day. Don’t skid on your lid. Simmo.

WOW!!
What an experience Day 1 Tuesday 7th March 7 bikes and 12 people met at the Top Shop-Branxton and rode to the ferry terminal in Sydney via the Harbour Bridge whoops tunnel. We all followed the GPS on Kerry’s bike and it didn’t know which way to go so we then followed the leader and went through the tunnel when we had clear instructions to go over the bridge and then we all found different ways to make the terminal– in fact this GPS got us lost a few times on our trip and John had lots of practice at u-turns. Day 2 The trip on the ferry was quiet good, we all made it in one piece, then it was then off to Ross for the 1st nights stay in Tasmania and dinner at the pub. We first had to celebrate Bears Birthday and Shireens for the next day (which went on for 2 days) Day 3 Went for a walk around Ross in the morning – a lot of history in this town – then it was on the bikes again and up to St Helens via Campbell Town stopping for lunch at Elephant Pass. We had a little problem with our young members as they wanted to turn left and we all turned right so after about half an hour they caught us up. After some really nice pancakes we arrived at St Helens, booked into our motel, then we all walked down the road for a few shots at the pub and to buy sausages etc for a sausage sizzle that night. Rob volunteered to cook the BBQ and he nearly burnt his tummy and Bear reckoned Shireen got off the form and he fell back so it was lots of laughs and a bit of drama but we think Bear was just laughing so much he fell back and took John with him Day 4 Breakie was eggs at the BBQ. Rob and Jenny went to Ulverstone for Rob’s meeting and we headed to Scotsdale for coffee, stopped at Carrick –a Cheese factory –and a Chocolate factory then onto Ulverstone to register. Our motel on the waterfront by the show-grounds was excellent. We all managed to part with some of our hard earned cash at the stalls. Tanya and Shane met up with us at the motel and we spent the rest of our time in Tassie with them Then we dined at the Motel (where we dined for three nights) and it was a bundle of laughs every night. The owners were great people Day 5 Not a good day for the BMW –did a clutch – sadly we had to leave the bike at home for the parade. We all met at the park with about 2 or 3thousand others (didn’t hear the numbers) and then road through the town where we reckon all of Tasmania was out to see us. John and I haven’t experienced anything like it –very emotional and a fantastic ride. In the afternoon we all headed to Wynyard everyone went by the coast road but John had trouble with his u-turns and we ended up going the opposite way – one way or another we all did the same trip Day 6 Rode to the Gold Mine at Beaconsfield via Exeter and up to Beauty Point to see the seahorses and over the Batman Bridge to Exeter for lunch, then onto Cataract Mountain for a ride in the chair lift Day 7 Last day for most. After packing our bikes rode to Sheffield to see the murals the up to the Axmen Hall of fame. We left the others and rode around Cradle Mountain for two days and caught the ferry on Wednesday From John and I we had a lot of laughs and enjoyed the company of Rob & Jenny – Lyn & Max – Janet & Neil – Shireen & Wayne – Kerry – Bear and Tanya & Shane. Looking forward to next year

Windsor via the Putty5 Mar 06
One bike and two bodies departed the wilds of Widden Valley at zero dark hundred to make Maccas Singleton by 0745 where we still had one bike and two bodies. An unhurried breakfast, Sunday papers scanned and we were still alone so at 0845 we departed. Having decided to not to ride the Putty Road twice, we headed down the Highway to Branxton, Cessnock, Bellbird. Wollombi then down through Yengo NP to St Albans for cool fluids, lunch and some jazz. Then to Wisemans Ferry, Dural, Castle Hill and Kellyville to deliver Master 5 his birthday present and a short family get-together. Home via Windsor (at last), the Putty, Golden Highway and Bylong Valley Way. 625 km in good weather and plenty to see. So, where the bloody hell are you? B & J T

15/01/06 to Brooklyn

8 bikes and 10 riders departed Singleton Macca’s on an overcast, and mild day which made it much more comfortable for riding, destination Brooklyn for lumch. A stop at Kulnurra for a quick cuppa and a bite to eat then off again we headed. Arrived at Brooklyn at Midday where for some reason seafood seemed to be the order of the day, it was decided that we would come home via the putty road. After a few wrong turns, we eventually found our way on to the Sackville ferry, then the Putty road and home. A good day was enjoyed by all, and I am sure our new members John & Barbara enjoyed their first ride with our group.
Simmo.
