2 Day Ride to Katoomba.
10 Bikes and 14 bodies turned up at
Macca’s Singleton, headed off down the Putty Road at 9am, and stopped at Colo
for morning coffee. Bill left for the big smoke and the rest of us rode on to
Katoomba via the Bells Line of Road, Mount Victoria and Blackheatharriving in
time for lunch. After we had all eaten lunch, it was on to our surprise at the
Commercial Hotel, Lithgow where we were staying for the night. In my opinion, it
had to be the worse place I have ever stayed in and I must say I was too
frightened to look in the bed with the light on. Then we made down the street in
the pouring rain to have a few quiet ales
Dinner that night was at the Workies
Club, which we were
very impressed with and being St
Patrick’s night the music was
turned on.
Breakfast was included with the accommodation
and to our delight, it was very nice. About 9am we headed off home via
Mudgee where we stopped for morning tea then to Denman for lunch.
I must say with the rain that we have been
having the countryside was looking at its best
Great company – Very Pleasant Ride

On Tuesday the 27th of March, a number of our branch members, and Dave’s work Colleagues set out on a ride to commemorate the anniversary of Dave’s passing. There were 20 bikes and one sidecar in total, and we departed Singo Macca’s at 9:00a.m. Our first stop was to be at Colo Heights down the Putty, but some riders wimped out and stopped at the half way house to don their wet weather gear [me included]. We then met up with the rest of the crew at Colo Hts. And after a refreshment proceeded onto Wiseman’s Ferry via the Sackville punt. A quick drink and refuel and off again to the Potter’s Tavern at Nulkaba for lunch, where we met up with some of our branch members who could not make the ride but joined us for lunch. Donna expressed her thanks to all who participated, and a special thank you to General Bill Muddle, who in his khaki uniform directed us to our next check point, with a firm yet guiding hand. Bill just to needs to improve his saluting technique. SIMMO.
