Sunday Breakfast Ride

Our first ride for the year was a great one. 8 bikes and 11 bodies left Macca’s and followed Max in his lime green vest with grumble bum ( aka. President Jim ) tail end Charlie in his orange vest. Left town via Redbournberry Bridge, Elderslie etc. out to the highway at Raymond Terrace and headed towards the Bay. Turned right at the roundabout and followed the road past airport and onto Stockton for a beaut breakfast.

We parted company and rode in different directions. I’m sure everyone enjoyed the ride, Thanks Max.

Day Ride March 1st 2009

At 8.45am President Jim and his wife Colleen riding two up with 7 blokes and 3 chicks (11 bikes in all) left Macca‟s Singleton where we headed off down the Putty Road and turned off Milbrodale to Broke, then on to Wollombi were we had a 5 minute stop. The last part of that road is getting fairly rough with plenty of great craters and a crashed car or two so we were ready for a stop, then it was on the Kulnura for morning tea. What a busy place that was. There seemed to be hundreds of bikes, a real good meeting place for riders. After we were all refreshed we headed off down Mangrove Mountain to Wisemans Ferry. I hadn‟t been down that road before and what a lovely ride following the river. Then it was on to the ferry for the short trip across the river where we enjoyed a hearty lunch at the Pub. Some of us had to fuel up and there is always one who has to made an ass of herself – yes I dropped my bike, straddled the speed bumps and couldn‟t get the back wheel over the hump and lost control. Bear - my knight in shining armour lifted my bike up and gave it a couple a good kicks and I was ready to ride again We left Wisemans Ferry to the Sackville Ferry for another short water trip and up the Putty Road home. A good day was had by all and the weather really treated us well. Barbara
